Signature experiences

Safari is not only what you see

It is how you move through the land: on foot, by mokoro, from a balloon at dawn, or sitting with a family whose ancestors have walked these plains for centuries.

Big Five safaris

Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, tracked with guides who read the bush like a book. We favour private reserves where off-road driving and small vehicle numbers make every sighting yours.

Walking safaris

The safari slows to the pace of your own footsteps. Tracks, dung, birdsong and the smell of wild sage. Zambia, the Mara conservancies and Botswana’s concessions are the great walking countries.

Gorilla trekking

An hour in the company of a mountain gorilla family in Rwanda or Uganda. Physically demanding, emotionally overwhelming, and unlike anything else on Earth.

Cultural encounters

Time with Maasai, Samburu, San and Himba hosts on their own terms, arranged through community-owned conservancies so the benefit flows to the people you meet.

Balloon safaris

Drift silently over the Mara or Serengeti at dawn, then land to a champagne breakfast set among the herds you just flew over.

Water safaris

Mokoro and boat safaris through the Okavango Delta, sunset cruises on the Zambezi and Chobe, and the Rufiji’s hippo pools in southern Tanzania.

Namibia’s dunes, the Makgadikgadi pans and the Kalahari, where the night sky is the main event and star beds are set out on the dunes.
